Members of the COCo team were present at the WWW2015 conference in Florence. During the SAVE-SD workshop (Semantics, Analytics, Visualisation: Enhancing Scholarly Data), some preliminary experiments about multimodal alignment were presented. The aim of the work is to combine the advantages of differents modalities to enhance the understanding of a scholar work, more specifically here synchronizing a scientific article (pdf) with the video recording of its presentation during a conference.

The variety of contributions to this workshop illustrated the relevance of this application domain for research, both from its scientific interest as well as its potential usefulness for the scientific community.

The conference was also the occasion to participate to discussions about possible evolutions of the MediaFragment specification, especially the ability to specify dynamic spatial fragments and spatial fragments of any shape. A prototype implementation has been proposed to demonstrate possible notations and uses.
